What is the best American micro brew beer?

posted on March 18, 2008 in how to brew beer

I guess it doesn’t have to be micro brew. What is the best/your favorite beer that an American company or person has made and is readily available?

That’s a question not easily answered as it depends a lot on personal taste and opinion. Check out http://www.beeradvocate.com for some ideas, as well as a listing of good beer stores in your area.
I’m a strong proponent of buying local, even when it comes to beer. Check out local brewpubs and packaging breweries. Nothing tastes better than a locally-brewed, fresh, quality craft beer. Many of these breweries distribute out of state as well and won’t be that hard to find if you look in the right places.
For example, I’m in Michigan and I’ve got a ton of stuff to choose from… Arcadia, New Holland, Bell’s, Founders, Dark Horse, Arbor, Kuhnhenn, Dragonmead, etc. Plus a ton of local brewpubs like the Beer Co’s, Copper Canyon, Big Rock, WAB, Redwood Lodge, etc.
Good luck and Cheers!
