This kit really isn’t all that bad as an introduction to homebrewing. Even if you use the ingredients they give you, the beer turns out better than many macrobrews. But if you want REALLY good beer:

1) Replace the booster with a can of unhopped extract.
2) Throw out the dry yeast and use a good liquid yeast.
3) Use corn sugar instead of cane sugar when you bottle.

I’m curious to know, and since you sound like you have done this before- I have just bought a Mr Beer Home brew Kit. I’d like to add my own flavour, I was thinking a Vanilla Bean with a hint of Cinnamon to a Wheat Ale, how do you think I should get started?
