looking for facility where I can brew beer – In San Francisci Peninsula?
I want to brew beer as a gift for a friends wedding. I have heard that there are facilities where you can go to do this. Pay for supplies and use of equipment on site.
How o I find such a place
I’ve never heard of such a facility. I live in San Jose, and the last I checked, the only store that sold beer making ingredients had gone out of business. You could go to Yahoo! Yellow Pages, and set the location for the city where you live. Then do a search on "beer making". But those companies close up shop in a hurry. There isn’t much demand, since you don’t save that much money and it is a LOT of work.
I have talked to a few people that have bought the beer making kits, and speak of good results. The kits are fairly cheap and would probably cost the same as or less than renting facilities/equipment. This site is probably the best for buying kits. I also sent them an email asking them about companies that rent facilities/equipment. When (if?) I get an answer, I’ll get back to you.

I got a response to the question I asked of homebrewers. Here it is.
Hello,
I’ve heard of brew-on-premise and wine-on-premise businesses, but not of a store
dedicated to renting equipment.

There is a place in Concord called Beer, Beer and More Beer. They sell everything you need to brew beer. There is also a small brewery a few doors down called EJ Phair. The guys there are really great. I havent spoke with them in a couple of years but they at one point did let people brew with their equipment.
Good Luck
