Is there a less expensive way to home brew beer than the 5 gallon per batch approach?

posted on October 1, 2009 in how to brew beer

I find that my wife, friends and I drink a lot more beer than my 5 gallon per batch equipment can keep up with. Is there some other approach to making Cerveza Lager in greater quantities without buying a mini brewery?

Get another kit and have two batches going at the same time. I started with a Mr. Beer kit and still use it but have since grown my brewing operation to allow me to brew around 13 gallons at a shot.

  2. You know…if THEY are enjoying your brew so much, it would only be polite for them to pitch in for ingredients so it’s not such an expense for you. They could also pitch in for additional equipment so you can make multiple batches to keep up with their demand.

It’s a good sign when you brew it well enough that your friends keep coming back for more. It’s not fair for you to have to shoulder the bill for it all, though.
