Will this Barley work for my home brew?

posted on May 25, 2009 in home brew

I’m planning on brewing my first home brew and I was just wondering if Sugat Pearl Barley would work? I’m using the coffee pot brew.
Would it still work without malting it?

yes but you have to malt it first.

edit: Six row barley would be better.
If you are new to brewing start with a kit.

Would light ruin my home brew in a plastic fermenter?

  2. Your first home brew should be an all-extract ale, no malt at all. Keep it as simple as possible. Mine was an English Brown Ale that turned out well enough that I have made it a couple of times since, despite having progressed to more complicated recipes.

  4. This is by far the easiest and best opportunity out there. Dont let people like the Maverik Money Guy hype up opportunities that dont work for the common person. Check out this website, it really changed my life.
