I need recommendations for the most helpful book in teaching how to brew beer at home.?

I need the best Beer Brewing book in print.

The Complete Joy of Homebrewing, by Charlie Papazian, is widely accepted as the best beginner’s book for home brewing (and even for non-beginners!). Papazian is the founder of the American Homebrewers Assocation, and is probably the biggest name in homebrewing in the world.

The second best book is probably Jim Palmer’s How to Brew.

Will this Barley work for my home brew?

I’m planning on brewing my first home brew and I was just wondering if Sugat Pearl Barley would work? I’m using the coffee pot brew.
Would it still work without malting it?

yes but you have to malt it first.

edit: Six row barley would be better.
If you are new to brewing start with a kit.

Is it possible to brew marijuana beer?

Anyone can brew beer from different things – cranberries, pumpkin, wheat, barley, corn, etc. Can you make beer with marijuana, and would it retain the THC?

If you want to retain the THC, your best bet is to dry hop with chopped up buds. Boiling buds like hops boils off the THC.

A good friend of mine says that it is better to dry hop with something a little stronger than beer..he says hard cider with about 12%-14% alcohol is great dry hopped with some good bud. If you were going to use beer…high gravity is the way to go…imperial stout or barley wine would be your best bet.

My friend says that he put a spoon full or two in a few bottles at bottling time and waited a couple months then try them. He found that it does take a bit of bud to actually get a noticeable effect..about 2 tsp per 16 oz bottle will give you a noticeable / desireable effect and you won’t want/need another bottle after one of those.

Strain this through a metal strainer (not something like a coffee filter) and you will still be able to smoke some of that bud after it dries out… coffee filter somehow removes some of the THC. from the beverage.

My friend says to watch out cause you will defiantly get a different effect and it wakes you up…energizes you in a way…you’ll talk a lot…feel great..but may say or do things you will regret the next day…so be careful. Of course my friend did this is a place where it is legal to do and would advise you to only do this in a place where it is legal as well.

Beer Home Brewing Kits vs. Buying Piece by Piece?

I am thinking about getting into beer home brewing as a hobby, would you recommend buying a starter kit or buy the equipment piece by piece and if so what kit? What pieces? And what sites would you recommend checking out?

buy all you need in one and you will have all you need without any of the pitfalls.
