Is it illegal to brew beer if you’re underage?

Im 19 and I have brewed beer with people of drinking age, but Im thinking about buying my own equipment. Is that illegal?
Idk if it helps any, but I was planning on doing it in upstate NY in a house I live at with 7 of my friends.


It is illegal, yes.

They don’t card you to buy equipment or ingredients, though, and I can’t think of any reason why you would ever get caught.

i been making home brew beer from kits but the beer always tastes sweet, is there anything better to prime the beer than sugar?

Less sugar or malt, more yeast or hops Or leave it longer to fermant. Check the specific gravity as obiously all the sugar is not turning to alcohol

What does the average set up cost, and after that what do you think it costs to brew beer…. I am interested in this for a hobby and am wondering if it is really cost effective or if it is about the same…I like to throw occasional parties, so I am sure it would all be enjoyed…

its a great idea…U could start your own micro brewery for the neighborhood…U can get a starter kit for 35-50 dollars.. at world market or whole foods…there is nothing better than fresh beer…the first time I tried it I was a believer..
